JESSE MADER – “J.James”
Jesse Mader’s reputation for rapid fire vocal delivery, mixed with poppy hooks and edgy urban content began before the times of iTunes and social networking. Selling his first 2 mix tapes out of the trunk of his car as a teenager, his local fan base was enough to push him to create his first official album in 2006. Title track, “THIN LINE,” is a metaphor for the mix of musical styles that influenced the album. It defines his extremely original sound, paying homage to Hip Hop, Pop and Rock ’n Roll.
With the help of time and social networking, “THIN LINE” was downloaded around the world. This landed Jesse recognition at Pittsburgh’s Hip Hop awards show in 2006. (In good company with Rostrum Records’ Wiz Khalifa.)
As a treat for anxious fans, he and producer, Chris “Mindbender” Longo, dug into the archives and released a mixtape of earlier recordings entitled “Jesse Mader Presents: J.James Underground” in 2011.
Age and experience has given Jesse the ammunition he needed for his new album, “Breath by Breath,” released in the Summer of 2014 (The album was released under his full name, Jesse Mader, as opposed to stage name “J.James”). The album highlights his growth as a songwriter, producer and artist, and respect for wicked, gritty “Urban Rock.”
Jesse’s high energy band, “The Urban Rock Project,” is composed of guitarist Jason Longo, drummer Anthony Tomasello, keyboardist Chris Longo, bassist Ryan Black and DJ Climax. Their sound combines elements of hip hop, classic rock/pop & funk. Due to of the energy and size of the band, Jesse has playfully become known as the “Bruce Springsteen of hip hop.”
